A message to my clients:

Thank you for being a valued client!

I want to make you aware of a phishing email that has recently been sent to a small number of my website clients. The message falsely claims that there are compliance issues with your website and urges you to take action by a specific date.

Please be assured that this email did not come from me and no action is required on your part. If there were ever an issue with your website, I would contact you directly. Know that:

I will always send a formal invoice to you from my email address:   idelle @ ijdesign.com – and I typically take checks or can arrange a payment personally, I do not send digital invoices or online payment requests with any urgency so if you get an email from any other email, specifically gmail emails, please let let me know and report it as spam.

Your website and customer information remain fully secure. I have not experienced any security breaches or hacks related to this phishing attempt. The scammers appear to be using only publicly available information found online.

If you receive one of these emails, please do not click any links or reply to it. Instead, forward the message to me so I can continue working to address the situation and shut down the source. This particular email that was brought to my attention was a free fake gmail email address that uses picklewix in the email address, but this is NOT me.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, feel free to reach out and we can set up a time to talk.

Thank you again for your continued trust and loyalty. – Idelle Fisher

Attached below is an example of the fake email impersonating me with a fake gmail email address: picklewixwebdesign@gmail.com talking about website compliance or audits. You can see it doesn't have my standard signature or name, just [Pickle] which is a red flag since the bot didn't even use my real name. Please let me know if you see any of these emails and forward to them to me so I can hopefully get this fraudster shut down by Google/gmail.  You can also help by also reporting this email as fraud on Google’s report abuse form: https://support.google.com/mail/contact/abuse

Thank you and sorry this has happened, hopefully it was just an isolated event!
