Importing Wordpress Posts to Wix Technical Issue - Too many categories
As a Wix Designer, I often work on transferring Wordpress websites to Wix as clients love the easy-to-use (and maintenance free) Wix platform. Today, I ran into a snag when trying to import a Worpdress blog posts into a new Wix website. I couldn't figure out how it worked, and Wix phone support was stumped, too. While troubleshooting, I realized when trying to import it using the XML file instead of using the URL import, that I had too many categories (over 100) in the original blog post. Once I removed the extra categories (there were 189 if you can believe it on the old Wordpress site!), and started a fresh import, it worked! I DID have to delete all the categories first in Wix as the import DID partially work by importing 100 categories to start, so deleting the categories and then trying the import again fixed the issue. I just wanted to put this here for future reference and for any of you who may be running into the same issue with moving and redesigning a Wordpress website on Wix.
