Graphic Designer Tip: Illustrator Linked Files in PDF & Large File Sizes

Just a quick tip from my Print Production partner – we thought we'd share this as Graphic Designers and Website Designers – we have run into issues with extra-large PDFs being exported from Adobe Illustrator: If you click this the "Include Linked Files" on when saving Illustrator PDF files, it will make large files and embed the images. This can lead to some PDF issues as it creates very large file sizes which cannot be emailed to clients easily. We think the wording is a bit confusing on this, and a new feature. We think it should instead say "embed images" as that makes more sense! But, here's our note for future reference if anyone is experiencing large PDF files when saving from Illustrator. Turn off the "Include Linked Files" to reduce PDF size.
